Beef Jerky - My New Hobby

Something that many people probably don't know is that I love my beef jerky! So much so that I have decided to try my hand at making it myself.

For you vegetarians out there, I apologise in advance for taking scrumptious, delicious, succulent cow flesh and marinating it and then drying it out to eat it all day long.......

I am currently eagerly awaiting the arrival of my dehydrator to get my jerky making factory underway.

I already have a succulent cut of lean topside beef ready to go and all of the ingredients needed as well.

I think I'll try and make some Teriyaki floavour, Chilli Jerky and some traditional Jerky.

Sty tuned for a progress report and see what I can make. Hopefully I won't poison myself or get gout from eating too much Jerky....... Wish me luck!

In South Africa, we call this biltong. I have fun making my own. I soak the steak in vinegar and worchester sauce for a few hrs. Wipe it off, add spices to the meat, and hang. Delicious.
