Not Yo - Nacho

in food •  7 years ago

Boy do I have a delicious, dreamy, creamy "Nacho Cheese Sauce" that isn't Nacho Cheese Sauce. Yes, you heard me right! My "Nacho Cheese Sauce" contains absolutely no dairy and is completely plant based. The taste is eerily close to the real deal folks. I know the suspense is killing you, so without further ado ... let's begin!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup alkaline water
  • 1 cup Raw Cashews (soak in 1 cup alkaline water for 1 hour prior to making)
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 cup Roasted Red Peppers
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 cup Nutritional Yeast

Directions:

  • In a high powered blender (**a quality blender is a must), combine all the ingredients and blend until smooth cheez sauce is achieved. We enjoy the nacho cheese in soups, over nacho chips, macaroni and cheese etc. The sky is the limit!

I love nacho cheese! My husband Doha’s no idea how I could possible like it lol! I had no idea there were different types of yeast either! I should try this sometime.

Nutritional Yeast is used in a lot of vegan dishes. It adds a "cheesy" flavor that has health and nutrition benefits. This cheese is delicious!

Mmm i think i will be giving this a try. Thanks for the info.

You shall be delighted!

I just bought the items today to make this so hope to try it tomorrow:)

Oh yeah! O'le! Let me know what you think.

It worked first go very nice still amazed those ingredients can make that outcome.

Yeah!!!! It's crazy how when blended together it makes that creamy nacho cheese consistency. Glad you enjoyed it!

Not real cheese? Nooooooooooooo!!! Ok after saying that, if presented to me I would try it!

I know. I know! I have made it for my family at Tabernacles and Passover and everyone thought it was "nacho cheese"... hehe! After the fact I told them it wasn't... they were pleasantly surprised.
