Well dayum, it’s been awhile since I posted a blog. Between work, sickness, and a severe series of brain farts, I just haven’t been able to put two words together. At least not two that would make sense. Try as I may, they just wouldn’t come.
So the other night as I lay in bed, trying to get some much needed sleep, finally, a flicker of an idea hit me. These occasions are rare, and I was tempted to jump out of bed and start writing then,my mind said “lets do this” and my sore an aching body said, “NOPE!” My body won, but my mind wouldn’t shut down enough for me to get some sleep for a very long time. It was protesting, mainly because on those times when an idea hits in the evening hours, by the time I go to sleep and wake the next day, the idea has disappeared.
Anyway, I’d just recently bought a new BBQ and wanted to try it out. The day I purchased it, it was raining, the next evening it was snowing, not that any of that mattered, because I still hadn’t bought a new propane tank. I had one, which was empty, but was unfillable, because it had expired it’s date. After a tank is 10 years old, it cannot be legally refilled.
The next day I went to Canadian Tire and bought a brand new tank. The tank and fill up came to $70.00! So I didn’t care what the weather conditions were, that BBQ was going to be fired up, and on the menu was t-bone steak!
I went out on the deck to light the BBQ, and it was windy, it was blowing so hard, I’d thought of putting a safety harness on, just in case a gust of wind came along and blew my skinny white ass over the railing. I wasn’t even sure if the BBQ would stay lit, but I was determined. I managed to get the BBQ lit, and while that was heating I got some “taters in their jackets” (baked potatoes) ready go with the steaks, and some homemade beef rice.
Well the BBQ stayed lit, the steaks turned out great, and that dayum BBQ is friggin GREAT! So today I’m going to throw on some ribs, and guess what, the wind finally died down!
