Today I decided to treat myself to a birthday lunch at my favorite Japanese restaurant Shira Nui and ordered the sashimi lunch special which included four types of fish and a salad as well as steamed egg and small appetizer dishes. The miso soup and rice are a must for all lunches too. The egg was silky smooth and had small pieces of eel in it. The salmon sashimi was my favorite but all the pieces were so fresh. The small appetizers include pickles, cold seasame noodles and lotus pieces.
In the afternoon I got my free birthday smoothie from Boost. I decided to go for the All Berry Smoothie. It had raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, and berries. Yum!
After dinner with friends I ordered a green tea layered crepe cake slice to share. Not too sweet and really smooth. No candles but at least it was a simple symbolic birthday cake.
All in all, a nice day and the sunshine was an added bonus!
