春餅 Chun Bing - Chinese Spring Rolls Dinner Time

in food •  7 years ago

It's kind of like a Chinese style soft shell taco. One of my favourite Chinese meals and it's not just for Beijing Roast Duck.

I was treated to dinner, my choice of food, and I chose something I've not had in a long time. You can technically use any dish for a filling as long as the restaurant makes good bing which is the soft roll.

"春餅 - chūnbǐng translates to spring (like the season) pancake (closest thing in English we got as a single word)

It's one of China's most recognizable meals and you can find it being served all over the country. It's a fun social event like many types of cuisine here, it's best eaten with friends and family.

Here I have some shredded pork and spicy shredded potatoes with carrots. Which are some of my favourite items for chun bing.

Here is just a simple little restaurant no duck just delicious dishes of everything else you would expect from a family restaurant.

So you take the bing and put your items in it. I like to keep them to the size of one bite mouthfuls but some people stuff them right full.

I can also handle it easily with chopstick if it's not over flowing and stuff into mouth.

Delicious!

I thought the shredded pork was some kind of worms if you didn't mention. Looks like a yummy meal.

haha. mmm. That makes me think I need to come up with a prank with them now lol

A part of me want to try this, but the other part disagrees.

Every part of me wants to try this! :)

Your food looks incredibly delicious. Very interesting technique of using the soft "shell" to put everything together. In Korea we used lettuce leafs with meats, and it was incredible. Perhaps they have something similar, I just never ate it. :) Thanks for sharing!

I do love Korean BBQ. So many in Dalian actually. Maybe because we are so close to Korea. I am like a 2 hour train from the border of North Korea at Dandong in China.

I do love the lettuce wrapped BBQ meats. Another fun social event. I did a post about a Korean BBQ i went to some time ago and now that you mention it I realize they didn't give me lettuce last time. I do enjoy Soju at the same time.

Nice man. Enjoy! #ssg

The food really looks attractive

If you like Chinese food you'll love this. Most people do.

This post is perfect for this type of platform. Short to the point and very clean with supporting images. Kudos!

I agree

Making me hungry! Gtta g0 later ;)

Got to say, it doesn't look that tasty from the first look but I bet it tastes better than it looks :D

Yea, I find that with a lot of Chinese food.
