##Hello fellow steemians,

As already having introduced to you some high quality Vodka, Whisky & Gin I will be speaking about RUM today. Not long ago I had the chance winning an auction on Ebay and finally getting some often recommended and meanwhile desperately desired "Don Papa RUM".

I do admit right in before I have not been much into rum before so my what I am going to state here is my personal point of view and understanding of this product.

####So lets get started, shall we?

First we are having a look at the bottel itself. in fact it has the kind of shape you have in mind and always been shown in the pirate movies. The shape is pretty straight forward - one could argue if it might be similar to the "Gentle Gin" bottles in terms of how the bottle is formed. You do get reminded of old pharmacy bottles as well.

When you do look at the labels and closing you will be impressed. It has so many informations on it that one doesn´t know what look at it first. Going structured onto this I started on top, hence with the closing.

The closing itself seems to be made of cork. If you look at the label surrounding it you will see a spider and some kind of salamander. When looking at teh label a bit longer you will recognize the initials BHRC( BLEEDING HEART RUM CO).

Now lets have a look at the main label.

Left hand side we will see - most likely - Don Papa pictured. What will definately be catching you eyes is the great effort they have given for details in general.
You are being provided with quite a lot of information which you might not have known before such as the fact "Don Papa Rum" being imported from the Philippines and being aged in American oak barrels.

Looking at the back label you will get a short summary about the person Don Papa and the origin of this rum.

####"The Rum"

so far we have examined the shape of the bottel and had paid a lot of attention to detailed labels. As of now we will take a look at the rum itself, its smell & taste. For this very reason I have given some in a Whisky glas as I haven´t gotten any rum glases at hand.
When you open up the bottel you instantly smell the rum... a combination of Vanilla and oak - I admit: that is absolutely mouthwatering :)
When you have given the rum in the glas you can almost see how the flavour of the rum is flooding the room.
It has a typical oak coloring however a little darker as we have seen at different whisky´s by now. That may be the result of the very nutritious ground and the use of sugarcane - but this is just my personal opinion.

####Finally & the most crucial thing is about to come ... we may taste it!

Straight from the beginning you taste all what you were expecting: a rich taste of vanilla in combination of a light touch of oak making it highly drinkable. It is very smooth & gentle however with some hardwarming power straight from the beginning. Once swallowed the vanilla taste will last quite some time and one may only ask for another one.

##To conclude I would recommend Don Papa Rum almost always unless you hate rum. If you have never tried rum before you should definately get your hands on this one. There is not much of a mistake one can make here. I would even recommend it to Gin & Whisky lovers.

So fellow steemians: who want a glas of "Don Papa"?

Cheers,

Great rum, we were given a bottle of it as a gift recently. I look forward to checking out your other spirit reviews. following :)

... muss ich auf jeden Fall mal probieren :)

kann ich dir nur empfehlen.
