My New Job at a Chocolate Shop

I started a new part-time job in August. I was visiting my favorite chocolate shop, Annegret's in Kelowna, BC, and saw a "Help Wanted" sign. Well, the choice wasn't too difficult. "Of course I'll apply-I love their chocolate! Nom nom nom." But the job would come with a risk-extra calories.

Quality vs. Quantity

Fortunately for me, I haven't gained as much weight as I expected (about a pound). One of the things I noticed about eating handmade, small batch chocolates is that a little goes a long way toward satisfying my cravings. I don't need to eat as much cocoa products as I used to. Also, it has spoiled me for cheap chocolate. I used to love Coffee Crisp for example. I had a small Halloween Coffee Crisp a few nights ago and was surprised at how little I liked it. With Halloween approaching, my kid's candy will be safe from me at least.

    My Favorites:
  • The Margarita-An extra large truffle with lime margarita syrup and margarita infused dark chocolate ganache-a little taste of Mexico with a kick!
  • Mint-your choice of milk or dark ganache with refreshing mint
  • Rum-like a rum ball but creamier
  • Cappuccino-shown in the picture above, it is a chocolate and coffee flavor bomb!
  • French-as shown in the picture above, it has brandy infused dark chocolate ganache
  • Peanut Butter Cup-as shown in the picture above. Reese roll over and die!
  • Champagne-champagne and ganache with a wonderful aftertaste

  • So, if you are visiting Kelowna, come and get spoiled at Annegret's where you can get handmade gelato, organic specialty coffees, and of course the most amazing chocolates! I would love to meet another Steemit author.
