This is by far one of the funnest dishes I can ever make since the recipe is super easy. What you will need is basically:
- Pork Chop
- All Purpose Flour
- Japanese Panko
- 3 Eggs
- Lots of vegetable Oil
Step 1
When you get the pork chop at your local grocery store or market. Make sure there is even spread of fat through out the pork chop. Also debone the pork chop so that all that left to eat is the meat.
Step 2
Its best to have 3 seperate pans for this because you will need to seperate the 3 eggs in 1 pan, the Flour in another, and the Panko in another. You will first scramble the eggs, then take a pork chop, season it with salt and pepper, than coat it with egg, dip it into the flour, dip it back into the egg again, then cover the pork chop with Panko.
Step 3
You will deep fry the pork chop in vegetable oil. Make sure the heat is on medium heat. Than fry it on both sides or deep fry it for about 5 minutes. This will cook the pork chop througly and make it turn either golden brown or brown depending on the Panko you buy. Than keep repeating the process.
Katsu Sauce
You will need:
- 1 bottle of Worcestershire sauce
- White Distilled Vinegar
- Soy Sauce
- Brown Sugar
- Heinz Ketchup
- 1 bottle of Strong Rum
Before I tell you how to make the most awesomest Katsu sauce, I must disclose that this is done by eye and is not strictly "this much" in terms of quantity. It depends on what you want. For the following recipe, if you want a lot of ZING and KICK, do it my way.
In a small but medium size bowl:
Squeeze out half a cup of Heinz ketchup.
Than add two bottle caps worth of White Vinegar.
Two bottle caps worth of Soy sauce
5 to 10 Shakes of Worcestershire sauce
1/3 Cup of Brown Sugar
2 Second pour of your favorite Brandy over here in Asia its this:
Than you mix it really well. The result I love to have is that when you taste it, its almost like bbq sauce but because of the brown sugar and the brandy, there is this sweet kick that is given that almost makes your taste buds react as if you were sucking on a lime yet its tolerable because of the sweetness. If you achieve this result than your katsu sauce is perfect.
Try the recipe guys and see what works best for you.
