Sun-day Fun-day

We love Sunday, but don't we all?! For me, I get excited because Sunday is usually the day we have brunch. My husband and I tried a new place today and it is called the Rosedale Diner.

It's a lovely little place, cozy and we were sited by the window with bright sunlight coming in. It was actually quite funny that the waitress greeted us and asked if we wanted to start with 'alcohol' drink or cocktail. We laughed as we have never been to a brunch place where you start with a drink instead of coffee, lol.

Their bunch menu is decent with a great variety. Their chicken and waffle caught my eyes instantly and my husband went for the classic brunch breakfast with eggs and etc.

After brunch, we decided to take advantage of the free subway ride in Toronto today. The subway system (TTC) was celebrating the opening of its new extension and offered Torontonians a free ride.

My husband and I really wanted to check out the new subway line, especially the Pioneer Village station which is only 10 minutes walk to the Black Creek Pioneer Village historic site. For your info, Black Creek is a working village, typical of those established in south central Ontario between the 1790s and the 1860s. My husband visited as a kid but I have been wanting to visit for a long time.

We found the station entrance quite interesting. However, it was too cold to walk to the village. So, we decided to return in the summer time instead.

Overall, it was a fun and relaxing day. Being able to hop on and off the subway freely to check out the new subway stations was also a bonus. How was your Sunday - Hope it was a relaxing one too!
