Vitamin A shows significant role in sustaining neurological function, eye health, hormonal/reproductive health, and skin health and supporting the lungs, digestive organs, liver, and kidneys.

Many people do not realize that vitamin A (provitamin A) is different from vitamin A as active/performed (retinol). In vivo, active vitamin A exists as retinol, which binds to fatty acids. Beta-carotene is a species found mainly in plants and must first be converted to active vitamin A before it can be used by the body. It occurs in the inner layer of liver and the intestine.

Vitamin A Rich Foods

Here are some foods that are rich in Vitamin A:

Turkey Liver

Most animal livers are full of minerals and vitamins. 100 grams of turkey liver will give you 1507% of the required vitamin A daily.

Butternut Squash

Butternut squash is a source of beta-carotene. A cup of winter squash will give you 400% of daily vitamin A needed.

Beef Liver

The liver is the most abundant source of vitamin C and vitamin A. They have been used for centuries to cure anemia. 100 grams of beef will give you 300% of the vitamin A needed during the day.

Mustard Greens

Mustard leaves can be eaten raw or cooked because they have excellent nutrition and flavor. This makes 118% of the daily required vitamin A.

Tomatoes

Several recent studies have shown that tomatoes are fruits. Add to your daily diet as it contains fewer calories and many important vitamins and minerals. Tomatoes provide 20% of vitamin A needed during the day. They are also a rich source of lycopene and vitamin C.

Spinach

For a healthy life, add spinach to your daily diet. A glass of spinach can provide 49% of the daily value of vitamin A needed.
