Korean Snack Crate !!! -The Unboxening- (video)

in food •  8 years ago  (edited)

Hi guys ! I just got my SnackCrate in the mail ! (I walked to the post office to get it, so you know I was excited about it)

I made you guys a video of me unboxing and trying everything. (The video cut out after the first five minutes but I posted both parts )

For those of you who don't want to spend the time to watch the video, I have included pictures and descriptions of all the snacks I tried (plus my personal opinion about them). Hope you guys enjoy!!!!

Banana Kicks

Corn puffs with the flavor and shape of a banana

These had a really yummy banana flavor , kinda like the runt candy (which I love), and the consistency of a cheeto, which was actually really delicious.

Pushu Pushu

Don't boil it ! This ramen is meant to be eaten as a cracker. Check out the directions on the back

This actually surprised me in how good it was ! I never thought I'd enjoy raw ramen noodles, but I guess we can always learn something new, especially food wise (: It's kind of a spicy flavor, so if you don't like hot you wont enjoy it, it has a good crunch though !

Honey Twist Snacks

Twisted strips of flour made to resemble French fries, then covered with Acacia honey.

These, in one word : meh. They kinda tasted like a bland kids' cereal.

20170623_140551.jpg

Koreabob

Seaweed flavored crackers that resemble creatures of the sea.

To me, these didn't really taste that fantastic, but I'm also not used to the taste of seaweed soooo that could've been why, the hubby loved them though !

20170623_140641.jpg

French Pies

Fresh jam on top of a flaky and buttery pastry. (They included two , one strawberry and one apple)

There isn't much to say about these , they weren't spectacular or anything..

Sweet Potato Snack

Sweet potato snack is the perfect combination of of sweet potatoes and maple syrup.

This was actually the best of the "fry type snacks" that they sent me, they actually are pretty delicious , which surprised me cause I'm not the biggest fan of sweet potatoes!

Oh Yes!

This is a chocolate snack cake, (not even in the manual), basically similar to what you can get in the US.

This was really dry, and not that pleasant to eat at all...

Kancho Biscuits

Named for the prank played by Korean childre. These crunchy biscuits are filled with chocolate.

These are so yummy ! And so cute ! The chocolate is really good , and there are cute little characters on all of them ! These are super fun to eat.

** Choco boy**

Choco Boy has a chocolate cap on a crunchy biscuit.

&nsbp; These are delicious!!! They are really similar in taste to most of these, they seem to really like white bread with chocolate.

Coque De'asse

Shortbread cookies with a coffee and cream flavored center ( I also got sent a white chocolate one)

They sent me two flavors of this one, and they were amazing probably one of my favorites ! They taste like those Milano cookies you get here in the US <3

20170623_141104.jpg

Shrimp Chips

Shrimp chips are "hot, salted, and fried" and are made from fresh flour and ground shrimp.

These smell like fish food ! They also have a really fishy after taste.... Hubs loves them though

Secom Dalcom

Sour fruit chews similar to Hi-Chew from Japan.

We actually have these in the US! The strawberry are the best ones :D They are very chewy, very fruity, and have adorable packaging ! These were lemonade flavored, with super cute pikachu packaging.

Almond and White Peperos

A classic stick-style treat with milk chocolate and almond flakes. (Chocolate ones)
Delicious stick biscuits coated in cookies and cream. (White ones ) (my favorite)

These are similar to picky (or so I've heard and SOOOOOOOOO good! Favorite thing in the box ! As usual with the Korea box, the chocolate is super creamy

Home Run Ball

Cripsy pastry balls with a rich chocolate filling.

I actually got the white chocolate version and these were pretty yummy ! Until it got to the coconut aftertaste... then it was less than stellar...

Gosomi

Wholesome wheat crackers with just a hint of sweetness.

These crackers were delightful to eat !!! Super thin, crispy, and both sweet and salty. Really enjoyed this one !

20170623_142816.jpg

20170623_142827.jpg

Choco Heim

Crunchy wafer sticks with hazelnut chocolate or vanilla cream inside.

These were one of the best things !! The hazelnut chocolate inside was to diiiieeee for !! <3

20170623_143212.jpg

Yakgwa

Traditional Korean cookies resembling flowers, served on New Year's Day and Korean Thanksgiving.

These. Were . Terrible. SOOOOOO artificial, greasy, and dense. 20/10 would never eat these again.

20170623_143254.jpg

Choco Pie

These marshmallow pies are adored by all Koreans. They are regularly smuggled into North Korea where they are as good as cash.

These are literally moon pies. They sell them here in the US, and they are not exactly wonderful, it's dry cake and marshmallow... covered in chocolate..

I saw the first part on YouTube last night. That is one interesting box of assorted Korean stuffage. Great commentary by the way!

Thanks! It took like three hours to upload the second one, then the upload FAILED, so I had to re upload it, for another three hours, or it would've been up last night lol

And yes it was definitely a taste bud adventure 😂

How do you feel about white chocolate though? :P

I frickin love it 😂

HELLO... I'M IN STEEMIT... FOLLOW ME AND CHEKIN MY BLOG... FOLLOW YOU

Thank you! I had alot of fun making this!!

I had no idea there was a monthly snack crate! I'm so down and the children would love it too.

The White Chocolate Pepero packaging solicited a hearty laugh from me. What a crazy awesome picture. I want to try the Choco Boy candy with their magnificently fun looking shapes! The Pushu Pushu is a food we would eat in the hood growing up. When you are poor you find inventive ways to spice up your food life! Just to think we had an invention in our hands the whole time! We'd add hot sauce to make them spicy, but I like the idea of having spicy powder because it wouldn't be as messy.

Thanks for this really cool share.

My wife tells me we aren't supposed to use the words cool and awesome anymore. Says it makes it look like we are trying to be hip when it actually makes us look old (so she read).

Shoot no. AwEsOmE o PoSsUm CoOliO

Haha nah, you're still hip! Although tbh awesome o possum kinda killed it for me 😂 yeah their snack crate ships monthly and you can order in three different sizes! Plus if you decide to, I have a referral code for you :D

Lol. As it should have! Yes, please put your referral code out there for the masses!
