Hey Steemit,
I've been away for about a week but I have returned!
Honestly, I haven't been doing much in the way of taking pictures. So I took the time to take some pictures while I made a pizza the other day!
I admit you don't know much about me here but if there's one thing you should know it's that I absolutely LOVE Pizza!
I have actually worked at, at least 3 different Pizza places. At all three of the Pizza places, I was right there on the line making pizza. I absolutely loved it.
At one of the pizza places I actually worked there for 4 years. I don't really regret quitting my pizza jobs because I needed to grow.
I did grow and learn more about myself and that's what lead me on my Journey to becoming vegan.
This post isn't really about my vegan journey so we'll move on to the Pizza making!
I started by getting my toppings for my Pizza all prepped.
My favorite topping on pizza has always been Jalapenos. There's just something about the heat that sets my taste buds alight with delight.
For me probably the hardest part about making pizza is making a proper dough. The one job I didn't do in the pizza business is making the dough.
Since then I've tried to make pizza dough and have had limited success.
This time wasn't any different.
The ingredients in a pizza dough are very simple. You only need flour, water, salt, and yeast.
You would think with so few ingredients that it would be really easy to make a dough. You would be correct but to make a fluffy crust while also having a crispy bottom is one of the hardest things to do.
You need to get the right proportions of the ingredients and honestly for a home cook without a scale it can be tough. I did my best though and it came out ok for what it was.
I topped the dough with my favorite ingredients and tossed it into the oven. Luckily I have a Pizza stone so the pizza came out pretty crispy on the bottom.
I would be lying if I said that everything went perfectly but if you look at the picture above something went terribly wrong.
Or if you look at it from my perspective something went horribly right! Yup, we ended up with a heart like crust making the pizza extra hearty!
Was the crust soft? No. Was the bottom crispy? Yes! One out of two ain't bad!
The reason the pizza has such a messed up crust is that I had to use a baking tray to put the pizza on the stone. The main problem is that I didn't put enough flour on the tray and the dough absorbed the flour I did put down. So naturally it stuck to the try and I had a hard time moving it to the stone.
It was definitely an enjoyable experience though.
What this experience has taught me is that I have a lot to learn when it comes to making pizza.
Next time I'll bring you along again and hopefully I'll get my proportions correct.

Thanks! It came out good. I can improve of course but I really want to wait till I have a pizza peel before I get really into making more.
