in food •  8 years ago

It seems like everywhere you look on steemit, most trending food posts are about some expensive dishes that cater to Western taste. In this post, I want to take you away from the Western world and enjoy a humble Vietnamese dish called Bun Rieu (seafood noodle soup).
Here is the list of ingredients:
-tomatoes
-crab and shrimp paste
-tofu
-eggs
-ground pork
-vermicelli noodle
-onion, green onion
-pork bones
-daikon radish

1st: boil the pork bones and chop up the onion, tofu, tomatoes, and radish

2nd: mix the crab and shrimp paste with ground pork and eggs

3rd: put radish onion into the boiling pot in the 1st step and wait ~15 minutes

4th: put all the ingredients from steps 2 and 3 into the boiling pot and wait ~ 45 minutes. Then add in MSG, sugar, and salt to your taste (I generally add 1 tbsp of each in a small pot).

5th: Boil the vermicelli noodle and add chopped onion and green onion.

Finally, add the soup from the boiling pot to the prepared vermicelli noodle bowl. Enjoy you dish :)

This looks good. Could you also do a recipe for pho?

I will. Make sure you check it out

It looks amazing, but I gave up meat :/

You could always have pho with a vegetable broth. That's another killer dish :)

Best hangover cure, ever!

Thanks a lot for sharing! Now that you mention it, it is funny that there aren't many tips on how to cook good food on a budget...
