El Rincón Cubano - A Cozy Little Cuban Restaurant

If you live in Southern Florida, you will know that there is a large presence of Latin Americans, of those, the largest being Cubans. They are not known for being soft-spoken people, but they are definitely known for their food. Maybe it's just me, but I love Cuban food. It's like comfort food. These restaurants aren't hard to find either.

One such place is El Rincón Cubano, a humble little restaurant off Viscaya Parkway in Cape Coral. Based in what seems to be an industrial zone, El Rincón Cubano seems to be a little out of place.
However, what it lacks in curb appeal, it surely makes up in it's value.
My wife and I had the following to eat and drink (mind you we are vegans): I had a colada which is like a double shot of espresso, with sugar, we had between us two juices, guanábana (soursop) and mango. To eat, we each had arroz con moro (seasoned rice with black beans), tostones (fried green plantain), maduros (friend mature ((sweet)) plantains, and yuca con mojo (cassava with a garlic sauce). All of this came to $18.50 and we ate like kings. The good thing about Cuban food is that it is cheap!

I frequent this cozy restaurant now, and I try to bring people there that haven't been, or have never tried Cuban food. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by, you won't regret it!
