I just learned about a short chained fatty acid called ‘Propionate’. Which works (quite literally) as an appetite switch, turning off that cravings for more food. Propionate is created as a result of your gut bacteria breaking down ingested fiber.

In summation step up your fiber intake (from whole plants). You can do this by upping the amount of whole plants you already eat, plus slowly incorporating more fiber from different plants (variety is king). Eat enough fiber in a 24 period and you won’t be having those cravings for nasty high energy food (junky fatty foods) that your body doesn’t need.

I totally agree! This has been on my mind lots over the holidays. My diet is deficient 8s diverse quality fiber. Lots of remedies for that though. And, change is a finicky thing!
