For The LOVE of Honey!

Nothing Sweeter!

We use a lot of honey in this house! We use it in tea, on peanut butter sandwiches, over pancakes, even in our homemade medicine like our Elderberry Syrup and Fire Cider. Good, local, raw honey is much better for us than refined sugars so we substitute it almost anywhere others use sugar. We have even been known to make Mead with it!

Lately, it has been a pretty expensive good habit. So after our bee's left and we couldn't get more we started looking for a co-op option. We finally got in the inner circles of some small, local, crunchy mom groups and got the elusive co-op email. I was so excited when the Honey Order email finally came! It was such a great deal for a gallon of local, raw honey so we jumped on it. Our friend was nice enough to help get it to us and we have been indulging ever since!

I saved honey-bear bottles from the last honey we bought so I could fill them up for easier use! This honey is so good, so good we have been using it on everything. We even have a tendency to just tilt our heads back and pour it on our tongues! The children love when I do this and I am spared any guilt by this sweet indulgence. Because honey is so good for us!

We love honey. This is a no sugar household. We hope to have bee hives next spring. It will be a welcome addition to the homestead. We now travel 4 hours to a mountain where we can buy organic honey...

We had two hives! They are gone. Trying again in the spring!

By the way, how does that mangosteem chat work?

As much as I like honey it is not in my diet. I am type 2 diabetic and my body is very good at digesting but very slow at metabolizing. I have to be very careful about carbs. Even the good kind. Have you tried making honey candy? It is best made with the darker old stuff and the small amounts left in the bottom of the storage containers.

You be careful! Leave the honey candy to us! Lol

Now I want some honey! Why did you have to go and do that! Good post! 🐓🐓

Lol, it was my plan all along!

It worked! Haha🐓🐓

Nothing tastes better when you are trying to satisfy a sweet tooth, yum, yum.

Very true! It is perfect

Having fresh honey on the farm is the best!

Next year we will get bees again

Bees are definately worth the work!

My parents have a few hives of bees, so we've been fortunate to get honey from them. My wife loves it in her oatmeal and on pancakes. I'm sure yours is just as delicious! Bees are so great.

I can't wait to have bees again! Sounds like your parents are a lot like us!

I will hope to see some posts about your bees when you get them!

your post make me happy, now I want to go buy honey, lol

I think honey is an essential storm prep! Go get it now! Lol! I'm glad I can make you happy friend!

Great title! Honey is the best sweetener! Fire cider is awesome too. I just produced a podcast about superfoods and honey is on the list. You can check it out here: https://steemit.com/health/@arevolution/ep-6-or-superfoods-the-most-nutrient-dense-foods-on-the-planet

It is a wonderful food! I'll check it out!

From what I know honey is supposed to have a LOT of health benefits. Hope to get my organic honey game on!

Hubby and I love our honey and this year I must get some local blossom honey.

Nothing is better than honey! (Maple sirup comes close ;-) ) I love pictures of happy children, this is very funny.

Honey is a great and natural sweetener. I understand why you love it:-)

We drink so much honey in my house -- I'm going to go have an awesome cup of tea right now -- thanks for the inspiration.

I just started experimenting with local honey in my area. I've had some really "interesting" flavors, but I still go back to the orange blossom as a preference. Good post! @suicidalviral

I never met a honey I didn't like, thanks!

I want bees so badly. Having your own honey is amazing. We still use a fair amount of sugar and I would love to replace some of it with honey.

Nice - love honey on pancakes or as part of a salad dressing

How do you go about getting bees?

Cheers
