Goulash

A goulash is a stew made with meat and vegetables. Goulash originates from the medieval Hungary. It is a very popular meal in Central Europe. Here's how to make a goulash:

Ingredients: 

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 diced onions
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tin tomato paste 
  • 2 pounds of beef cut into cubes 
  • 1 or 2 potatoes cubed

Method

Boil the potatoes. Cook the onions until soft. Then marinate the beef in paprika, salt, pepper. Through the rest of the ingredients and cover. Cook until the meat is soft.

You know, i was vegetarian for 28 years (from 6 years old) and you know what broke me? Goulash in the Czech Republic (never made it to Hungary sadly). It reminded me of my childhood as my German Nana used to make it.
