Looking to pig out after a long day of work? Give Q Pot a chance to satisfy your hunger. They offer Korean BBQ and hot pot options or both for a couple extra bucks. We went with the combo option since it was our first time dining at this restaurant. Your begin your experience by ordering base broth and a drink. Afterwards you use the tablet next to the table to enter the meats and veggies you would like to order. I thought this was awesome because I could order at my convenience rather having to chase down the waitress with my creeper stare. While the order was being prepared we decided to make our sauces at the condiments bar. Always a great addition to hot pot menu, too bad this isn’t the norm for all hot pot joints. Our order came within minutes of us ordering it. We’ve been here a couple times before and the quality of service can vary depending on whose working and how busy it is. I’m cutting the crew some slack in my review considering the place was packed and there was a long line outside with hungry customers.
Out of all the bbq cuts we tried I would recommend the Kabli Beef Short Ribs. You can never go wrong with this option. You get two pieces of well seasoned short ribs. If you cook them right, they’ll end up tender and juicy. The premium steak was a far second. Sorry maybe its my personal bias but nothing comes close to the ribs. The waitress did recommend the garlic shrimp that come peeled, but I wasn’t impressed. You get miniature shrimp seasoned with garlic sauce and little too much salt. Not a bad dish if you got a little extra room left in your belly.
For hot pot I would recommend the lamb and beef in the Taiwanese spicy broth if you like a little kick. Probably my bias again but I can resist lamb and with some seasame sauce from the condiments bar. In regards to the quality, all the veggies and meats we ordered were fresh and clean. The Taiwanese spicy broth wasn’t as spicy as we expected, but provided enough heat to satisfy our palates.
They also offer mocha dessert options which we passed up because we were stuffed. Overall we were very pleased with our experience here. I’d recommend coming during low volume hours when new orders tend to be delivered a lot quicker. Also, remember you have 2 hours to eat as much your belly can fit. We passed the 1.5 hour mark but I would imagine most people rarely get pass the first hour.
