Lemang (Aceh : Leumang) suatu makanan khas yang hampir dapat ditemui di seluruh daerah Indonesia. Makanan ini biasanya dibuat dari Beras Pulut (ada juga yang berbahan Ubi) yang telah dicuci dan direndam. Lalu dimasukkan kedalam Bambu yang telah dilapisi Daun Pisang. Teknik memasukkan Daun Pisang ke dalam Bambu ini adalah yang paling sulit. Di dalam Bambu tadi dituangkan Santan Kelapa.
Cara memasaknya penuh perjuangan dan tetesan keringat, yaitu dengan didiangkan dekat Api (Bara Api). Jarak dari Api juga menentukan kualitasnya, terlalu dekat dengan Api dan atau Api terlalu besar, akan menghasilkan Lemang yang hangus.
Lemang merupakan makanan yang hadir di momen istimewa. Menjelang Puasa, menjelang Hari Raya dan acara penting lainnya. Best served at Coffee Time!
