Good morning people kind.

Well I am almost back to full health after a healthy 6 hours sleep, and feeling so much better, I guess all the toxins after not sleeping are almost flushed away, and the lack of alcohol in the system is also a major plus, I plan on sticking to no more than 2 beers a day from now on, it feels oh so much better.

I have a very busy day today with motorbikes arriving, and doing my last grass cut of the year, only doing a few hours of that, as the cold weather will take care of the rest that we rarely tread anyway over the coming winter months.

I think today will also be the final harvest of apples, tomatoes, carrots, beets (I hope I spelt that correctly), water Mellons etc. Anything not harvested today gets left to dry out for seeds to be planted next spring.

The food is free project we trialled this year was a massive success, over 50 tonnes of wheat, barley, corn etc were distributed to the local community for free, and I will explain the knock on effect below.

In our local village everyone grows food of various vegetables and fruit, none though grow everything, we have been giving away lots of different foods that different people do not grow, as a result they have been giving away what they do grow (surplus), we have been doing weekly trips around the villages local to us with a trailer full of food to give away, sometimes we come back with things we never left with, given to us by people we gave to, and then we redistributed that on our next run, by last week we could not even give food away, every house we went to had plenty, and due to the amount of apples we gave away, approx 62 trailer loads, everyone has apple jam for the winter, and raspberry/strawberry etc.

I have to harvest the grapes also today, so it will be a busy busy day, so I shall catch you good people this evening, have a superb day, and make hay while the sun shines, 25c here and all is well.

That's quite a endeavor. I stopped gardening after nothing would grow anymore. I took it was because we had such a decline in the bee population. Now the lady's gone who use to spray her lawn all the time and I see a increase in bees it's basically me I'd be growing for, I never learned to can which I regret. Maybe I should try something like what you are doing but on a smaller scale.

Cheers my friend, it gets easier if you take care of the soil, a little lime if needed, and some fertilizer in the autumn and spring, then almost anything will grow.

I remember going to a local nursery one year and they told me I needed to use some add some. I said add some what. Add some, you need to use some add some. I wasn't quite getting it until I seen the bag and it said Add Some...lol...some sort of fertilizer mix you put in the soil. It didn't help.

I take it you were a little vertically challenged then like me lol. (short)

I maybe confused you with that answer, English humour you see.
Nursery in the UK is where you take children, and fertilizer helps things grow, as kids small children would get told to put some muck in their boots/shoes, to help them grow you see.

It's all good, you didn't confuse me. Here in the US a nursery can be a place you take children or it can be a place where plants are nurtured, hence while they call them a nursery also.

Superb at least my English humour was not lost on you then, all good.

I'm a bot. I detect haiku.

Free locally grown food? Sounds like some sort of heavenly utopia!

I gave up around 4 acres to grow food for the community, sort of a pay it forward, quite a few locals helped out, and harvested for me, they get free food, I do not have to pay tax on the land, win win.
And as it is not my country, I wanted to give something back, not take, seen enough takers in my own country back home, immigrants arriving only to sit at home and want free stuff.
