Spontaneous Sushi Stroll

The oceanic birthday week for my beloved @mattlovell culminated swimmingly with an impromptu walk to the best sushi shop ever...in the heart of San Bernaghetto! Who would ever guess that such delicious artistry can be found at Miyagi's, located on our very own red light street, Baseline? http://miyagi-sushi.cafe-inspector.com/

We pulled up seats at the bar, and Matt started asking the chef about his best Sashimi. Once our chef realized we were not all-you-can-eat customers, the amazing delicacies started flowing.

Whenever we visit Miyagi's, we cannot resist their house special: salmon roll with lemon and jalapeno. With every bite, I nearly fell out of my seat with the force of the mouthgasm:

It was tons of fun tossing five dollar bills into the tip jar to show the chef our appreciation. We had seated ourselves before the master, and his juniors stopped to watch his precision with awe. At one point, Matt bought them a beer, and we all drank to good cheer!

Our next selection was a California roll to cleanse the palate post-jalapeno:

Meanwhile, Matt coaxed the chef to present another serving of his finest yellowtail sashimi:

Yellowtail fishing was good this week for someone, and now we got a taste of the best!

For a grand finale, we urged the chef to create something unique, something he himself would choose, and to show us his artistry. He delivered, serving us this tour de force:

A brilliantly plated roll featuring salmon and cream cheese wrapped in in yellowtail, resting in smelt eggs.

Bravo!

We finished our luxurious dining affair with a brisk walk back through the mean streets of San Bernardino, just under a mile stroll past homeless encampments and boarded up office buildings.

Surreal!
