Food photography : mochi

Have you heard of this traditional Japanese snack? It is easily my favourite out of all Jspanese snack. It is a rice cake made of sticky rice ( glutinosa) where the rice will be pounded into paste and molded to round shapes with various fillings.

The traditional fillings are red beans but in this modern day, it has fillings like green beans, green tea, chocolate, durian and even ice cream. When yoj place it in the fridge it will turn hard and the skin and fillings can be separated but when not, they became one as you stretch on it.

It is now a popular snack that is available worldwide and this vericio brand is my favourite as it near the originals the most. It is a pity that I had to limit myself to eating not more than one per day due to my reflux. If you dont know yet, sticky rice has a great effect on reflux, it is one of the easiest way to trigger it along with mint.
