For this Monday #foodphotography contest that is run by @juliank I am sharing a picture of some fresh beets that were supposed to be beet powder, but it never came to life because I used them to cook Russian borscht, which, I must admit, was pretty damn good as well :D.

But anyways, next time I get ahold of some fresh beets, you can expect some beet powder make an appearance out of those. Last time I went to Whole Foods, I noticed that it cost like $30 dollars per pound, and I thought to myself, oh my god, are you serious?! You bet I'm dehydrating those bad boys next time and grind the hell out of them haha. I'm excited!

The images were taken with a Canon EOS 5D Mark III and a Canon EF - 50mm - F/1.8 lens.

I guess if you like soups, you might wanna look through the ingredients and see if it's something for you, that's what I do :).

.

I don't recommend it for hot summer days, but whatever floats your boat, I suppose :D

.

Well, it depends on what you like to eat and stuff like that. People are picky about their food.
I recommend Margaritas.

.

Did your friend mention that it actually means a male cat? :)

As far as I can remember, I do not recall telling you what a cat meant in Russian, you must have confused me with someone else, not a biggie though.

But yeah, enjoy your drinks, don't get in trouble haha.

Nice raw beets photo it looks rustic and organic.

Thank you @sanddrift :) glad ya enjoyed!

Haha, you are damn right! I was also shocked to find out how much they charge for the beet powder. Haven't had time yet to make my own, just eating those bad boys as is. But some time soon I'll definitely try to dehydrate and grind them. Maybe once I see yours, it will give me a boost!)))

For sure! It's ridiculous how much they charge, dirty haha.

Thank you for stopping by, haven't heard from you in a minute :)

Unfortunately, other things in real life keep me busy and away from Steem) But I read all your posts. Just don't always have time to comment.

It might as well be a good thing, summer's flying by, I should probably do something too instead of hanging out on Steemit haha

i love the contrast bettween the wood, the green and the red!! looks really natural and organic... beautiful!

Hey... 30$ is a lot of money for that... are you serious? here with 30$ you can eat like for a month jajaja

I am serious! The beets were under $5, I forget the exact price, but the beet powder is way overpriced!

Thank you!

Best food!

Beautiful beets
I love beets I like to put them in salads parboiled with a bit of mayonnaise

Can you do something with the leaf of the beet?

Thank you.

To be honest with you, I usually just discard the leaves.

Hello my friend if it is very expensive the dust of that beet I like beets a lot but in my country it has become very expensive to buy vegetables a long time ago I do not buy beetroot for salad

By the way a nice picture

Yes, it is very expensive and beets are usually cheap too, so weird how they make up prices haha.
Can you grow your own vegetables?

Nice lighting!! I hope your beet dehydration project works out :)

Thank you @gardenchief, I hope so too!

What a fabulous shot! I love the rich moodiness of it! Who thought beets could look so sultry! hehe :)

Thank you, lady :)

Спасибо!
нет, это я приготовила давно, буду делать порошок из свеклы, когда снова ее куплю!

Можно использовать как пищевой краситель

I look forward to seeing how you make the beet powder. The above photo makes me want to buy some beetroot, it looks so healthy.

Me too!

The idea is to dehydrate the beets and process them into powder in a coffee grinder :) pretty excited about it!
But first, I need to get beets :D

Ahh, a coffee grinder, I was wondering what you would use to make it into a powder.🤔

Mhmm!

Hi,@kotturinn! Good shot! Beets are good because so many dishes with her participation. Of course Russian borsch is №1 . A good choice for the competition :)

Thank you!

That was actually the only time I made and had borscht this year haha
