Food photography: Kiwano a.k.a. spiky fruit

Horned melon (also known as kiwano or African horned cucumber) is a fruit with orange skin and lime green, jelly-like flesh with a refreshingly fruity taste, and texture similar to a passionfruit. This weird fruit is a traditional food plant in Africa.

It’s high in magnesium and contains plenty of fiber and vitamin C. I thought it tasted like a mixture of cucumber and kiwi.

It is primarily used as a snack, smoothie, or salad, and rarely for decoration.

And how do you eat your Horned melon?
I sliced it in half and I grabbed a spoon and began to dig in :)
