Eating in Melbourne: Dainty Sichuan

in foodphotography •  7 years ago

Dainty Sichuan is a restaurant chain that specialises in spicy Sichuan cuisine. They have a series of noodle shops and hot pot stores but the one I went to last week in Glen Waverley was the one that serves many different dishes to share. It was great to look at all the choices among the chef's recommendations and other seafood dishes.

We ordered the cumin lamb and it was fragrant and delicious. The lamb was succulent and full of flavour. The garlic shoots added a nice colour and crunch. This dish goes very well with rice.

This pickled vegetable with chilli and fish was the highlight. The soup came with vermicelli and bean sprouts. We really enjoyed the broth because of its sour-ness and spiciness.

The stir-fried Chinese cabbage was great because of the crunchy texture of the vegetables. The sliced pork added a savoury note to the dish.

We had some food leftover which made for a good lunchbox the next day! Highly recommend this place for people who like Chinese food.

Nice. I'll try to check out the place sometime too. Are the dishes really spicy? Btw, we should catch up sometime.

You can order non-spicy dishes there. Yes, let's catch up soon!
