Pele is one of the greatest footballers of the world . He was born on 23rd October , 1940 at a village in Brazil . He was the illustrious son of Dondinho . We know this great footballer by his popular name , pele. His real name is Arantes Do Nasciemento Edson which is a large and difficult one. Pele is also known by his other pet or nicknames such as Sun God , Sussy and Dicko. His first trainer was his father Dondinho himself . Then he was trained by Fiola , the national coach of Brazil . Pele played his first match for Santos Club in 1951 at the age of only eleven . Then he represented his country in a match against the neighbouring Argentina in 1957. The very next year , he played for his national team against Sweden in the world Cup . As a striker , Pele scored as many as 1100 goals of which 1000 goals were scored at the international level of soccer .
