Today I would like to tell you about my travel to Liverpool on December 2017. After almost 12 years of attempts, I finally managed to find tickets to watch a Premier League match, Everton vs Huddersfield, season 2017/18.
I left from Bergamo Orio al Serio airport on Friday evening, and as soon as I landed in John Lennon's Liverpool airport I remember I looked forward both to visit Anfield Road and to see Everton's match.
As soon as I got up, I took the bus and I went to Anfield Road. I love football and I know that Anfield road is one of the best stadiums in the world, so I was very happy to visit it. Take a look to the pictures below.
Isn't it an amazing place ? In my opinion it is, absolutely. I bought a ticket to do a tour of the stadium, which allowed me to visit the locker rooms, the museum and especially I could go next to the pitch, as you can see in the next pictures below
And then, after a morning happily spent to discover this magic place, in the afternoon I walked to reach Goodison Park, that is Everton's stadium.
With my surprise, once arrived in Anfield Road, I discovered that this stadium is very close to Anfield Road. There is just a park between the two stadiums, this means that it usually takes you no more than 10 minutes to go from Anfield to Goodison and the other way around.
You can have an idea about the small distance between the stadiums by watching the picture below I took from inside Anfield Road, which shows you where Goodison Park is.
Then after ten minutes walking in the park I have just talked about, I finally arrived at Goodison Park. And what can I say about Goodison Park ? I can only say that it is another beautiful stadium, in which you can breath the magic atmosphere that especially english stadiums can give.
And then, finally the match ! Everton vs Huddersfield. Ladies and gentleman, let me tell you a brief story. I began to work as engineer in 2007. From my first day of work I had a clear gol. With my salary I wanted to go to UK to watch a Premier League match. It took me more than 12 years to get this gol, because Premier League match tickets are very difficult to buy, but finally my dream came true !
In the next pictures below you can see Goodison Park, before the match and during the match. As I wrote previously, it's another great stadium with great atmosphere and hystory !
Thank you very much Liverpool, you gave my my first real experience with English Football, and I look forward to come back soon to watch another match.
And...in the evening after so much football, a little bit of relax, by walking close to the Mersey.

Thank you. Maybe the penultimate picture is a little bit out of focus

“In the Liverpool of my childhood almost all of the inhabitants of the city were either Liverpudlian or Evertonian; Anfield or Goodison; Red or Blue. You did not choose. It chose you.” Faith of our fathers: football as a religion
