During last summer's transfer, Barcelona have sought to bring in super deals to compensate for the departure of Brazilian Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain.
Barca have reached a final agreement with French club Nice on the signing of Ivorian midfielder Jean-Michel Serre during the next winter transfer window after negotiations stalled this summer.
Sport reported that Barcelona had returned to focus its attention on the 26-year-old African player, who was initially heading for funds to sign Brazilian Felipe Coutinho or Argentinean Angel de Maria, which he failed to achieve at the end.
The newspaper quoted sources from the club as seeking to clinch a Siri deal, but without ruling out new attempts for Coutinho, a Liverpool professional.
Siri's deal was suspended despite an agreement with the Nice administration, for about 40 million euros with a four-year contract.
Despite his anger at the failure of the negotiations and his inability to join the Catalan team this summer, he is ready to make the dream come true.
The deal will not be complicated, given the fact that there is a near-agreement between Barcelona and Nice and the player himself, which will not change the value of what was agreed at the Mercato last summer.
