It is fair to say the dream move for Coutinho has turned into a nightmare. He was so desperate to sign for the Spanish joints that he did everything in his power tob really push the move through at the time. Now Barcelona are doing the same, trying to offload the player to any takers whatsoever. Coutinho made it clear that Liverpool was his destination of choice. He was regarded a hero there and was loved by the Anfield faithful. He is still best friends with Firminho having been his best man at his wedding. Liverpool are also champions of Europe having made it to 2 finals since he left 'to win trophies'. Who is laughing now though?
Coutinho was sold for £142 million , massive money. Liverpool were very shrewd with the funds from the deal. They used it to correct weaknesses in their defence by signing centre half Virgil Van Dyke and goalkeeper Allison Becker. Both had huge seasons last year with Liverpool and it was because of these two players that Liverpool won the champions league and were a whisker away from winning the champions league. All this from the Coutinho deal. Virgil is now worth twice that.
In order for Liverpool to buy the attacker back they would have to fork out an 8 million loan fee and £250,000 per week in wages. At the end of the season the team would have the choice to buy him for £110 million back from Barcelona. Now if you were Kloop or Fenway Sports this would not seem like a good deal. The player has had a disaster at Barcelona and he is nowhere near the dizzy heights as he was as a player at Anfield.
Klopp knew also that the other players on the team were too reliant on Coutinho to produce the magic on the pitch and he became somewhat of a scapegoat for the other players. The team have moved on massively from this and now Coutinho would struggle getting his place on the team with Mane , his best mate Bobby and Salah in attack. Times have changed. While he was there he was a little upset that he wasn't Kloops golden boy. If he was to come back after being broken in Barcelona he would not fit in too well with a team that are on top of the world and playing great football. He would be left behind plus would he be worth the wages for a place on the subs bench now. I don't think so. Klopp once told him to stay and they will build a statue of you , go and your just another player. How true was that!! It was actually embarrassing for him to be hauled off twice against Liverpool in the champions leagie semi final. The Liverpool fans didn't even boo him. They just felt sorry for him. If he had stayed he would of been a champions league winner.
There is also still a sour taste in the owners and fans mouths about how Coutinho forced a move to Barcelona. He faked a back injury for the audi cup so he could push the move through . When the deal wasnt done all of a sudden he was OK. He was trying to leave at a busy time where Liverpool were trying to beat city in the league and he would of provided much assistance to win the premiership. Unwanted media attention for Klopp having to talk about it at every presser. With this in mind why should they even consider it? Liverpool were right not to take him back. Liverpool do not beg for any player after what they acheived last year. You had your chance and you left. Footballers are offering their services to them now. Be careful what you wish for . The grass is not always greener on the other side and the Winters are harsh in Munich.
I really have no words for him. I mean, he's a great player and really magical. Just that his stint with Barcelona has been disastrous for him.
I can't blame him for his desire to be part of a club with an outstanding passion for football. A club that manage their players really well and a home that you'll see football is a religion.
Unfortunate that they had a coach who wasn't able to see his pure potential. Maybe his stint with Bayern will make him prove his worth.

This is a lesson for all players out there, they should stay with their respectives club, and fight for the glory together and be contented with what they have.

He wanted to go to bigger club, like Hazard. Nothing bad with it. Well, next year Liverpool won the Champions league, its ironic.

You are only as good as your last game. He hasn't done much recently and hope he settles somewhere. I think it is difficult for a player to return to a club they left unless it is someone that grew up at that club. Just trying to think of any successful players returning to a club they had left previously and can't think of one off the top of my head.

In my opinion, his best years/seasons were before his transfer to Barca. 16/17 and 15/16, he was really in great form. The season 17/18, he was still great player, but Salah was in better form / condition or how to say. I don't know why, but that is how it happend.

A Bayern fan. Excellent. We need some posts about Bayern in here. Ive a few questions for you. Will there be a power vacuum now that Rummenigge is stepping down or is he still pulling the strings?
What happens if Lewandonski gets injured this year. There doesn't look like any alternative?
Coutinho would want to have some season if you were to pay 110 million next year for a 28 year old!!
Do Bayern not say they would never spend 100 million on a player??
What is the fan's opinion on the manager?
You should do posts about these. I lived in Dortmund myself so I always have an interest in German Football

I don't think his time with Bayern will restore him to his glory days. I have a feeling he will end up in Italy in the next 2-3 years.
