Mo Salah's Legendary Season & Other Egyptians That Played In the Premier League

in football •  7 years ago

Mohamed Salah’s stunning debut season with Liverpool hit a new high as the Egypt winger’s four-goal spree set a club record in a 5-0 demolition of Watford on Saturday night.

Salah has now scored 36 goals for Liverpool in all competitions since joining from Roma last year – the most by any player in a debut season with the Reds. He has beaten out the cult hero and Spain striker Fernando Torres netted 33 times for Liverpool in 2007/08.

His current form coupled with the injury to his closest rival for the golden boot Harry Kane makes him an almost certainty to win the top scorer in the EPL. His only competition would now be Sergio Aguero of Man City who sits 7 goals behind him in the League with 21

Mohamed Salah – Liverpool – Premier League (2017 - )

To catch you up on Salahs exploits here's a video of 27 of his goals this season

Mohamed Elneny – Arsenal – Premier league (2016 - )

Elney was signed from Basel in 2016 to be the screen in front of the back 4 and inject some much-needed stamina into the Arsenal midfield. He has been labelled a bit part player but has always given 100% on the pitch. he has now spent 3 seasons at Arsenal playing 34 games and scoring 2 goals.

Great article and a nice breakdown of all the players.

I think Mo deserves all the plaudits he is getting and is on course to win the golden boot with Harry Kane injured. I've upvoted, keep up the good work.

Thank you! He totally deserves it his been out of this world and Liverpool are lucky to have him if it weren't for City im sure Liverpool would have won the league this season. The champions league quarter-final between the two teams is going to clash of the season.

Amazing footballer and finisher. He has good ankles to move ball swiftly @chekohler

I agree. the man is really on another level everything he touches seems to go in and for 35 million he is a bargain

He is such a special player, it is a pleasure watching him perform each week. I am so happy he is wearing my teams colours!

Agreed! Liverpool fans must be smiling not since saurez and torres have you had a player on this level. I can only see your team going from strength to strength with Salah as the focal point. Yes you lost coutinho but i think his brought more to the team than Coutinho did. Now just to sort out that goalkeeping situation

Definitely, when Suarez left I didn't think we would see another player who was of that quality again but Salah is possibly even better. He is certainly less of a controversial figure who only brings positive attention to the team.

I agree and hope we do go from strength to strength, Karius has not been doing too badly in goal recently but it would be great to bring in a world class quality keeper to really sort things out at the back.

Oh for sure, Salah is such a humble fellow even last night when he scored the 4th goal it was as if he was too embarrassed to celebrate. Klopp has finally started to put together a team that echoes his philosophy and now its time to get some trophies in the cabnet

Well Since you guys love Southampton players so much im sure it wont be long before Fraizer Forster is a liverpool player lol

Haha not sure how I'd feel about Forster coming to Liverpool. I was thinking someone more like Jan Oblak or Alisson.
