Former Liverpool and Manchester United player Paul Ince warned Arsenal about the future of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. According to him, the player could leave in the near future despite having signed a three-year contract extension at the start of this season.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been sharp last season, scoring 22 goals in 36 Premier League games. However, this season he has only scored two goals in 10 games.
The striker again failed to get his name on the scoreboard after the Gunners lost 1-2 to Wolverhampton Wanderers, Monday (30/11/2020) in the morning WIB. Ince claims Aubameyang looks unhappy.
"Aubameyang for me is worrying. He looks frustrated. He doesn't seem to be getting enough service (from other players)," Ince told DAZN, as reported by the Daily Star.
"If he doesn't get served, even though he has signed a three-year contract, I can't see him there for the next three years. Absolutely not."
"I don't care (if Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang). It seems from his body language he is not happy," added Paul Ince.
Arsenal legend Ian Wright, who along with Ince is the pundit for DAZN, also claims Aubameyang was in trouble for a reason. According to him, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, was unable to improve the ability of his team with sufficient new recruits.
Arsenal spent large enough funds to attract defensive midfielder Thomas Partey and defender Gabriel Magalhaes. Both managed to strengthen Arsenal's defense.
However, the Gunners failed to pick up a creative midfielder in the summer, including Lyon star Houssem Aouar. Wright believes this is the factor that has made it difficult for Aubameyang not to find a reliable ball supplier.
"We have a striker who you have to say at the last stage of his career, he is in his best years," said Wright.
"Maybe on the condition that a player will come to help him bring Arsenal where they want to go, but at the moment that is not happening," continued Wright.
