Gary Cahill was on target after heading home a corner kick taking by Kieran Trippier of Tottenham Hotspur defender. The Chelsea captain was in fine form throughout the game with no much push to attack from the Nigerian team.
Cahill wasn’t the only player from Chelsea to play for England with the coach being Gareth Southgate, Ruben Loftus-Cheek was introduced to the game in the second-half as a substitute and show a glimpse of skills and form of last season in English Football and impressed with his beautiful performance, looking calm on the ball.
Also, in the Nigerian team there were a number of familiar faces in the ranks too, Victor Moses was on the field of play for over an hour at the popular Wembley Stadium, while Kenneth Omeruo was introduced as the second half about to progress and Ola Aina did not feature in the game at all.
The game was a good test for both side as the World Cup draws near.
