The Derek Carr situation is odd to me.

He's coming off his worst season in recent history; but, unlike the Russell Wilson situation, it's pretty clear that Carr's fall off was a coaching problem. I thought that Josh McDaniel might have learned something over the years -- he hasn't. So, the Raiders are seemingly sticking with a bonehead head coach, and defenestrating their franchise quarterback to double down on their coaching hire.

I mean, this almost can't be a Derek Carr problem. It's a miracle that he played at the level he did with all the shit that was going on last season.

Ian Rapoport just tweeted that the Raiders have granted Derek Carr permission to meet with teams that have offered trade compensation to the Raiders for him.

I think that this is all smoke and mirrors.

Trades can be agreed to; but, they can't be made official until the new league year. Namely, it could be announced just after the Super Bowl that Carr will be traded to x team for y compensation; but, that team can bail out before the league year starts, and the Raiders will be married to Care for the next season with a $40 million price tag.

The Raiders are just gonna cut him. The Raiders should just cut him now and let him have the head start when it comes to finding his next team.
