We have eagerly anticipated the resumption of the exciting English premier league and it finally arrived last weekend as we saw all the opening games.
It will really be interesting to see how things turn out for each club and player as the new season unfolds. This weekend promises to be as exciting as the previous week as we wait to see mouth-watering games of football. Before I briefly look at some big talking points, here is the league fixtures for this weekend:

Having seen the fixtures, its up to you to arrange your time to see the games that matter to you. Kindly note that the times in the games above are West African Standard Time. Now lets look at the ........

Big Talking Points

1. Manchester City's Kelvin De Bruyne is out Injured:

Yes, you read that right and he's out for three months with a knee injury. This injury happened during Wednesday's training session ahead of the first London Derby for this new season. This is a really huge blow to Pep Guardiola as he shapes up to defend the league he won last season. While this will be bad for the player, it wont be too bad for the club as they have strength in depth and can easily replace any position. ! wish Kelvine a quick recovery!!

2. Is Pogba Staying or leaving:

Well, when you win the world cup and you do unusual haircuts, there will be talks. Over the course of the world cup and into the new season, a lot has been said about Pogba's status in the club. Some sources claim he is unhappy while others says he is ok. Whatever you read about him, the club and manager has the final say. Mourinho says he is very happy with the kid and everything is fine. The player also said he cant perform if he is not happy. So, case closed - at least for now!

3. The first London Derby for the 2018/2019 season:

We've seen this fixture for years. It is usually flammable especially in the Mourinho/Wenger era. Now, they are both gone. This season, the two clubs got new managers with contrasting styles of play. Of course, the players - old and new - are still adapting to the manager's methods and so everything is not yet perfect. Whatever it is, this fixture has a lot of history and ego in it as each club struggle for supremacy in the city. We hope the new managers and players will live up to the billing. I advice you this - try to see this game if you can. No hypes, no name calling, no mind games; but the London Derby will live to expectations. It should!!!

Assuming you have everything well setup for this weekend - including the games, do enjoy your schedule. Stay out of trouble. Be the best you can be and um - Bye for now!!!
