GoodBye World Cup

Well, that is it, the World Cup in Russia is over, what do I do with my time now, I guess I will just be even more present with Steemit.

The new World Cup owner is France after winning the final against Croatia with a 4-2 result. Were the French the better side today? I guess they were, there attacks were more dangerous, but Croatia also tried but today just wasn’t their day. They got through with very thin wins over Denmark, Russia and England so I believe they really hit their top somewhere at the beginning of the competition and went downhill from there.

I do believe the referee did give the French a hand, in those little things like fouls not awarded to Croatia, fouls given to the French etc. But I think the penalty was a penalty, in fact to me the last minute hand when Pogba missed was also a penalty.

To me the best team was Brazil, they were statistically overwhelmingly superior to every team they faced but I think they also played against FIFA, you could see the referees hand in the game against Switzerland and against Belgium at least one penalty wasn’t given to them a lot of fouls were not given and I do believe at least one Belgian player had to be sent off, namely Fellaini.

But Belgium received payback when they played France because in this game the French were definitely favored by the referee, I think FIFA handles these games to get the result they want it is not so visible but these small mistakes end up hurting a team.

I will give you one example, probably the most famous, the Maradona hand against England in 1986, Europeans accuse Maradona of being a cheat, over in America he is seen as being astute, I think he just tried at the moment to do the best thing he could, to me all of the blame goes to the referee and the lineman, how can these two guys not have seen this handball? You know Maradone is 1.65m high and Peter Shilton is 1.83m high, how could it be possible for Maradona to jump higher than Shilton using his head and Shilton his arms? It is not logical and I think both refs saw it and were under instructions to have Argentina win.

Well I think most World Cup winners are decided before the final is played at least FIFA sees to it that from the semi finals onward only teams that they want make it.

Don’t think this is a conspiracy theory, FIFA is corrupt we have two FIFA directors from Honduras awaiting trials for money laundering in the US and besides these two there are a whole lot more from other countries awaiting the same fate, so where there was corruption there probably still is.

Apart from this the World Cup is a great competition, great to watch it and I wouldn’t miss it, I guess everyone knows it is not the cleanest of competitions but us fans can live with it.

Modric received the Golden Ball as the best player, I guess that will be challenged by many people, including me, I would have given it to Eden Hazard.

So congratulations to France it is hard to win this and only one team gets to do it, once every four years.

As an apart I think this World Cup was really a win win for Russia, congratulations to them for being great hosts.
