Confederations Cup Resume:
Germany

The Confed Cup actually is secondary or less prior Cup here in germany reputation wise.
Because most people think it is a unnecessary tournament. I think the Championsleague, World Cup
and the European Championships are the most popular football events. Other tournaments rather be seeing as more games for the players means more burden for the players!!
I don´t know how the confed cup is seeing in other nations in europe. I only heard that in South America the confed Cup must be quiete popular and very reasonable for the team which is winning it.

I for myself was excited about the tournament how the young German Squad would be playing against the other contental champions like Chile Cameroun or Australia!!
Besides greater Names of the Germans which are playing in the tournament like Julian Draxler,
Joshua Kimmich or Jonas Hector, there are many other young players and also some older players which only spectators of the German Bundesliga would know about like Lars Stindl or Sandro Wagner completet this team!
After the first two games I think, more and more germans saw that these young for international standards rather unknown and unexperienced team played very formidable in the first two games
and also the third game and in the semifinals, which I recall it game for game.

Germany vs. Australia 3:1

In this Game, Germany were pretty dominant the first Half, so they scored very early in the game through Lars Stindel, after Julian Brandt the right winger of Bayer Leverkusen got into the box and passed it in the back of the defence to the unmarked Lars Stindl of Borussia Mönchengladbach.
After 35 minutes australia equalize with the first shot on the goal of Bernd Leno the goalkeeper of Bayer Leverkusen.
Shortly after that Leon Goretzka, Midfielder of Schalke 04 got tackled from an australian player, and the referee give a very rightfull penalty, which Julian Draxler hammered it it and Scored.
In the second Half Germany dominant play continues which result in the 3:1 through Leon Goretzka, Joshua Kimmich giving the assist!
After the 3:1 Germany kind of lost some of their dominance, probably because of saving energy for the next games. The Australians getting stronger and they managed to score 3:2 through an freekick,
which was saved by Bernd Leno, even he can´t catch the ball correctly and dropped it infront of an Australian player and he shot it into the net.

Germany vs. Chile 1:1

That was as expected the hardest opponent for that young German Team!
In the first 30 minutes of the first half Chile had full control over the game, and played amazing
pressing to prevent the germans to build up their game!! So that was especially the case when arturo Vidal and Alexis Sanches attacked Mustafis pass to another teammate. So Alexis Sanchez Hammered to ball in for Chile, no Chance for Ter Stegen the german goalie! Right after that Goal Chile have another great chance, but Eduardo Vargas missed the goal by hitting the crossbar!!
10 minutes before the half time germany get out of the permanent pressing of chile, with a wonderful pass through the midfield, so that Emre Can have so much space in front of him, that he could pass the the ball in the box between an chile defender to hector and he passed the ball right in the middle of the penaltyx area, where Lars Stindl scored the Equalizer!
In the Second half it was a tied game, no team could create much chances or dominated the other.

Germany vs. Cameroun 3:1

The last group game against Cameround was dominated by the germans, in terms of effectivity and Game Control in the second half!!
Although the first half was the worst half of germany during the whole confed cup.
After the break germany scores through Kerem Demirbay which shot from approx. 16 m. In the right angle of the goal!! A very nice Assist from Julian Draxler with a back heel kick to demirbay
The second goal was scored by the german rising forward star Timo Werner, he scored with a little bit of a diving header. Assist very precise cross from Joshua Kimmich.
A few minutes later the camerouns scored the 2:1 because of big mistake of goal keeper ter stegen.
The final score for germany once again was timo Werner.

Semi Final
Germany vs. Mexico

The first 20 Minutes looked like Germany destroys Mexico all the way!!
Leon Goretzka scored twice, throughout amazing teamwork and teamplay from the germans.
After the first two goals germany have one big chance though timo werner, when he was running alone in front of the mexcican goal, but Ochoa saved that shot amazingly well and hold his team in the game. Strangly after that the mexicans gain more and more Control after the game and missed few very good chances to shot a goal!!
In the second half it was more or less a balanced game, the mexicans have more possesion but Germany scored very effectivly 2 more goals. Mexico scored an Wonderful long shot goal by Marco Fabian.

Finale

Germany vs. Chile

Ok now the finale. The game was like a mirror image of the group game. Chile totally controlled and dominated the game in the first 30 Minutes, with the difference they didn´t manage to score a goal like in the first game. Instead germany punished the first mistake of the chileniens and make
the 1:0 through Lars Stindl. After that goal germany has more very good chances to make the second goal.
In the second half it was almost a balanced game, except thatr germany was a little bit better than chile and had the control over the game except for the last ten minutes, where chile could have equalized.

To sum up, it is save to say that germany deserved that tournament win without a doubt. They scored the most goals out of every teams, and they got the perfect amount of luck which is needed to win anything in football.

It also showed that even a german youth/reserve team is quite hard to beat for everyone:-)!
