It took just 35 minutes for King Wayne Rooney to score for Everton in first match since coming back home

in football •  7 years ago

The Former England and Man United captain Rooney received the ball in wide space in the friendly against Kenyan side Gor Mahia, and he turned towards goal before curling home a sweet goalking rooney.jpg

And the strike sparked memories of the goal he scored to announce his arrival onto the scene all those years ago against Arsenal.

His strike gave Everton the lead, but they were quickly pegged as the hosts levelled with a header from a corner and it remained level at the break.

Despite it only being a friendly, it will no doubt have been a special moment for the forward.

It was Rooney’s first goal for the club since he scored against Leeds 4,839 days ago.
