Hey steemians! Yes, my thoughts on why I think Tottenham has the best coach in the EPL.
With a league that is star studd with many decorated coaches like Conte, Mourinho, Klopp, Koeman, Pepe, and Wenger.
I think Pochettino has consistently proven that he is the best, and is unlucky not to have won a trophy as yet.
Three years at Tottenham and he has turned Tottenham from Top 4 pretenders to Title Contenders.
Here is my reasons why he gets this accolade.
His Philosophy
When Pochettino first came to Tottenham, he stress the importance have his players adapting to his philosophy.
He didn't try to fit players in, who never worked was shipped out without any reservation. If you were not willing to work hard and fight for the team and as a team - he would show you the door.
Three years has passed and Pochettino finally has a team that buys into his philosophy. Players continue to express how it feels more like a family, and they work hard for each other on the pitch. His molding of young players
I remember when he took charge of Tottenham. Adebayor wasn't working out... Soladado continued to let us down. However, he saw something in Harry Kane, and Harry has not let him down. Everyone has been calling Kane a one season wonder then a two season wonder, but yet after being out for 10 weeks this season he still managed to claim the golden boot.
One season wonder alright? Now we as Tottenham fans can proudly sing... 'He is one of our own'.
Look at Dele Alli and Eric Dier, now the biggest clubs want to snatch them from us. Alli and Dier is only going to get better and is the future for England.
Harry Winks was having a fine season as well. Danny Rose I consider the best left back in EPL.
Pochettino has continue to mold young England internationals for the future which I see no other coach doing in the EPL.
- His ability to change tactics
Unlike some coaches in the EPL, he isnt afraid to change his tactics. The masterclass that was displayed in the last North London Derby with Dier continue to switch from CB to Midfield was pure genius.
- His limited financial backing
Compare to the other top teams in the EPL, Tottenham has the lest money, the strictest wage budget and they are also in the midst of building a new stadium.
Yet with all the financial constraints, Pochettino has gotten Spurs to produce the goods on the field.
We start to see a Spurs side with backbone, a no die attitude that will keep fighting to the end.
Compare to the other rich teams, who will surely splash the cash again and over spend. Pochettino will continue to look for value in the market and someone that is willing to buy into his philosophy.
Pochettino has steady the ship for Tottenham, and they are headed in the right direction.
I truly believe if Pochettino can get that dynamic player that can pull something out of thin air like Hazard, Continho, and Sanchez then I will say they will have the complete team that will be unstoppable.
That's it for now. Leave your reply on who you think is the best coach in EPL and why.
For me Pep is better. Let's see how they perform this season!

I believe Pepe will come good this season. I don't think he will make the same mistakes as last season, and he has already gotten down to business in the transfer window.
The difference I see though Pepe has always had teams with great financial backing where he can go out and buy any player he desire.
Poch has always have to make do with what he been given.
Though i do rate Pepe and will have Man City challenge for the title this season.

The EPL definitely has some of the biggest brand name managers but sadly none are English. Agree with you that Poch is probably the best of the lot given his work at southampton and spurs. I'd rate either conte or klopp 2nd.

Yes true, it sad to see that not one English coach is managing the top 6 sides.
I do like Eddie Howe work though. Feels if they had a better defense they would climb higher up the table.

Don't forget Pochettino's stress on fitness. We consistently outwork our opponents.
All things considered, Pochettino does more with less than just about anyone out there.
I think that also limits him a bit though. His strengths are what you described above: overall, he gets every man on the squad on board, and all pulling in the same direction--a high tempo, high-pressing, attacking football. However, part of how he accomplished that is by shipping out players that aren't working hard. He especially rejects players that don't carry out their instructions and play their role in the system (Adebayor). And that's wonderful, that's what I want.
The drawback of this is in player selection: because he NEEDS players who will play specific roles and who will put the team's ultimate plan above their own ambitions, he choice of players will always be more limited than other managers'. And, it will quite likely be biased against the very top tier of talented players. Even if Tottenham matched the wages of United or Barcelona, any superstar player considering the three would know that working for Pochettino would be more physically demanding in training, and more mentally demanding in matches. I think even when the new stadium is complete and more revenue is coming in, Spurs will have trouble landing the very top talent, and what truly talent we do land will probably be disappointing. Under Pochettino, we're not built to allow individal to be mega stars. We're built as a team that will be more than the sum of our parts. We just won't be able to use the very best parts.
Now, as I said, I'm fine with this. I love the teamwork, I love the collective, working class attitude. We should be cognizant, though, of Pochettino's drawbacks. I think we're about at our ceiling now, always in contention for trophies but never favored. We could spend more money but I don't think we'll get much better than this.
