Gerrard = Next Rangers manager. Thoughts?

in football •  6 years ago  (edited)

My largely uneducated guess is that Gerrard may make a better manager than he was a player. What I always noticed about him was his MOUTH, which I thought took away from his football.
...but, in management this may become an asset. His youthful bantering with the lads may give him an advantage over other managers.
The media's been largely comparing him to failures for whatever reason, maybe they're either trying to brand him a failure already, or they don't want him to go over the border. They don't compare him to people like Souness. He doesn't, but it's someone who's had 1st club management success from Liverpool playing days.
Everybody who wants to go places is going to want to be linked to playing for Gerrard, and it's a signal that Rangers are changing for the better, they've turned the corner, and Celtic's going to have competition soon.
