Rui Patricio leaves his home club to join Serie A

In just a few hours long-term keeper Rui Patricio will be leaving his youth club Sporting Lisbon in order to join Napoli after the leave of Spanish goalkeeper Pepe Reina. The Portuguese spent 12 years with the senior squad.

The Serie A squad will pay €12m to Sporting for the rights of Rui Patricio, who will receive €2m a season. He will pen up a contract for 5 years.

He made 464 appearances in all competitions for Sporting and won 2 Taca de Portugals, 3 Supertaça Cândido de Oliveiras and 1 Taça da Liga. He also has 68 appearances for the Portugal international team.
