Croatia says goodbye on Monday to footballer Bruno Boban, of the club Marsonija, who died on Saturday at the age of 25 because of heart failure during a football match after receiving a bullet in the chest.
The player's funeral has been today and the autopsy has indicated that the player died of a heart attack, Croatian media reported.
The tragedy occurred when in the 15th minute of the Croatian third division match between Marsonija and Slavonija played in the city of Slavonski Brod, the player fell to the grass after receiving a blow to the chest.
Despite the efforts of the doctors, who tried to revive him for 45 minutes, Boban passed away.
Bruno Boban, according to the local press, is a distant relative of Zvonimir Boban, a former ex-player of the Croatian national team and currently advisor to FIFA president Gianni Infantino.
The deceased athlete played first for Slavonija from his native Pozega and then for NK Zagreb, before moving to Marsonija from Slavonski Brod.
With 12 goals this season he was the best attacker in the Croatian third division East.
