Sport Lisboa e Benfica, the biggest club in Portugal, has been having a successful operational, financial, and competitions results, during the last 10 / 15 years.
In this context, the board is considering to export their experience and expertise, in a bigger, in this case the biggest market in the world, the English Premier League. The idea is to manage a middle table club, optimizing their business performance, therefore increasing the financial results.
Is well known that the attendance and TV rights revenue in England are the biggest in the world, a great argument for Benfica’s ambition of implementing this model, under a brand most likely called “Powered by Benfica”.
