The two clubs have agreed that the first initial payment of £5.27 million should be paid on the 27th of February as against the initial 20th.

Argentine striker, Emiliano Sala went missing along with his plane and pilot on January 21 while on his way back to Cardiff from Nantes, few days after officially completing his transfer to the Premier League side.

His body was found dead in the wreckage after extensive private search and his funeral rites were completed in his hometown IN Argentina last Saturday.

Nantes had earlier on the 5th of February written Cardiff to make the first payment of the three instalments to be made as agreed for the deal.

The Blue birds however declined, stating that they would prefer that investigations be concluded before payment would be made and that some anomalies in the contract be sorted.

The delay is also caused by the fact that Nantes owes Bordeaux 50% of the sell-on fee as a clause in the contract when they bought Sala from the Ligue 1 side in 2015.
