Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has rejected an approach from Chelsea.
The Times says Simeone has been eyed as a successor to Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge.
But he has no intention of replacing him in west London.
The Argentinian, 47, has made it known through intermediaries that he does not want to be considered for the role and sees his future elsewhere.
Simeone, who has two-and-a-half years left on his contract, will either stay at Atletico or seek a move to old club Inter Milan this summer.
I read reports last week that Abramovich & Co have lined up Luis Enrique for the Chav job. That being said, I would take Conte at AFC as Wengers replacement!

I would go after Ancelotti if I were on the board. But Conte is way better than Wenger. Just doesn't have the type of players he wants at Chelsea.

I've heard all the Ancelotti reports but I'm not 100% convinced he's the man for the job. No discrediting his CV, but I think he's another manager past his prime who doesn't have an abundance of fresh and innovative ideas. He goes from club to club with a wealth of talented players and kind of just wins stuff and moves on. Bayern was unfortunate for him but to me, he lacks the fire and charisma and passion that I want to see on the touchline driving these lads up the pitch to score goals and win matches.
But at this point, anything really would be an upgrade from Wenger. I'd personally want Simeone, Enrique, Conte, Allegri, or someone like that in our dugout. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers! Just #wengerout!

Haha! I think he'll be at Emirates for a season or two after this.
By the way, what do you think about Marcelino of Valencia? He has done wonders with the players at his disposal.

I honestly don't follow Liga THAT well, obviously the Giants are hard to ignore and I like Simeone at Atletico. I followed Sevilla when Sampaoli was there as I think he is a brilliant coach. Valencia have Gabby & Le Coq so I check their scores every game to see if either of those knobs manage a goal. And I watch LP9 at Deportivo La Coruna but as a whole, it's a league I don't follow a lot. But Valencia being above Real is a testament to his managerial skills!
