Good Day, Good Night, Good Afternoon Steemians from all over the world. How's your day, nothing is greater than breathing until now.

So, as you can read the title, and yes.. I will talk about Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. I know, I know, this is only for football (soccer) fans. But maybe, whoever want to know what's my opinion about this one, feel free to read it, and give it an up vote or comment. Ok that is too early, now please continue reading this.

We knew that Ronaldo recently received his fifth Ballon D'Ore award and equalling Lionel Messi's Ballon D'Ore records. They shared the most Ballon D'Ore award (5th times) received by football player. That made them the best in the world. We're living in the GOAT (Greatest of all Time) era. Who will win the next one? Messi or Ronaldo?

Yeah as a fanboy you can say your idol will win it. But it all depends on how they're performing.

You'd think that I'm Ronaldo's fanboy, but no no no, you're wrong if you think so. I love both Messi and Ronaldo, because they helped me growing in football game. When I was younger, Ronaldo was my idol. I watched his videos everyday, and always trying to do whatever he did on the pitch, such as step over, knuckle shot, dribbling through the defenders (Ronaldo in Man Utd). And yes my teammates called me selfish because of the style I played.

2006 I heard the name of Lionel Messi, when he scored a goal for Argentina against Serbia. And then I don't really care, his name kept on growing bigger and bigger until 2009 Uefa Champions League final Barcelona vs Manchester United. I watched that game, what the hell, this guy is something else. I mean he kept on dribbling through the defenders, what a great dribbling skill. And he scored with a beautiful header, I wasn't thinking it'd going in, but it was. Unbelievable. There was nothing Van Der Sar can do about it. United lost the game 2-0. I started to hate Messi.

United met Barcelona again back in 2011. Where Messi scored a goal. It was another wonderful goal. Although I kept on hating him, but then I realized how great he was, how great he is and how great he will be.

![image]() 2009, Cristiano Ronaldo joined Real Madrid and broke transfer records. At that time until 2011, I still watched Cristiano Ronaldo's videos. But after that, I don't really enjoy his game anymore until now. From 2011 until now, I watched Lionel Messi's videos all the time. I do hate Barcelona, but I couldn't hate Lionel Messi.

The reason why I moved on from Ronaldo to Messi was because the style of play. Ronaldo right now is a striker, one of the best. Messi used to play as playmaker. So I like Messi because he always has the ball at his feet. He creates chances, assisting, scoring tons of goals, plays beautifully, and many more things in football. He is a magician, pure magic.

I still respect Ronaldo, I consider him as the best goal scorer. I only don't think that he's the best footballer. Right now, if you watch Ronaldo play on Youtube, it's only goals, and some step over, also some assists. So I can't enjoy that, I need more than that. It's not good for youth players to watch Ronaldo style of play, they should watch Messi style of play. If you're already a star, you can play the style Ronaldo plays.

Recently I did a research at some Manchester United fanpage account. I saw many Manchester United agree that Messi is better than Ronaldo, including myself. And there are also Manchester United fans who has Ronaldo's picture in Real Madrid's jersey as their profile picture. I guessed they're Ronaldo's fanboys, they used to support Man United but now they're supporting Real Madrid, and you know why.

Some of my friends, who support Manchester United at first, but now they're supporting Real Madrid. They started it since 2009 when Ronaldo moved to Real Madrid.

This 2017, Ronaldo has won many trophies with Real Madrid which made him winning the Ballon D'Ore award.

While Messi has won some awards too although only won Copa Del Rey with Barcelona. He won the best playmaker award, La Liga Top Scorer, La Liga Best Player, Golden Boots award.

Well.. Congrats to Ronaldo, from winning 1-0 to Messi back in 2008, now equal 5-5 to Messi.

Personally, I don't care how many Ronaldo will win the Ballon D'Ore, for me Messi is the best ever.

And I think Messi was competing to the whole Real Madrid Players. And Real Madrid beats him in Ballon D'Ore, I see it as Messi vs Real Madrid.

I know, I know, I know Ronaldo is the king of UCL. Thanks to Zinedine Zidane. Since the first time Zidane took control over Real Madrid I was scared that they'll become the best team, and yes they are. For this season, they're still struggling in La Liga.

Me? I'll watch the game, because it's entertaining, and I want to watch Lionel Messi.
