I think I have got to laugh a bit, because England lost against Iceland yesterday. That was a gigantic surprise, and I believe it was important for several reasons.
First of all, England has problems with Iceland. The last time they played was in the European Championship in 2016 in the first leg of the knockout stage, and then as well Iceland managed to beat them.
But, I don't really care about that right now. I believe this was crucial for England to be able to perform well in the European Championship. It is easy for the talent to go to the head of the players, and to many, England is a super-team that is among the best in the world. As a result, beating Iceland should be easy. And for that reason, they might have looked down on the opponent and considered it to be an easy match. It is better to get a punch in the face now during the last friendly match before the tournament, than during the tournament itself.
So, I expect England to be on fire before their match against Serbia on June 16. They cannot risk losing two matches in a row, and they now see the importance of being on the edge and fighting like lions, because that is needed to win any match in the European Championship.
So, it was cool for Iceland and Age Hareide to lead his team to a victory, but for Serbia, I believe it to be the worst result possible, because now England will be on fire and eager to get revenge as the teams march onto the stadium of Schalke 04 in Gelsenkirchen on June 16.

That was it for today. Tonight we have lots of other matches coming up and I am really curious about the outcome of the match between Austria and Switzerland. Both teams come from victories in their previous friendly matches, but this is going to be a tough test before the actual tournament.
Denmark will play against Norway. I know, we will miss Norway during the tournament, but would they have deserved a place in the tournament? The match tonight against Denmark will give us an answer to that question.
But, the highlight is the match between Croatia and Portugal. That is gonna be a fantastic match. How good is Portugal? How good is Croatia? On the paper, Portugal is much better, but we know Croatia is capable of doing miracles in tournaments. So what will this be like? And will Ronaldo get on the field?
