RB Leipzig has been a team known to have one of the best defenses in Germany. Well, they had that reputation, but not anymore. The team has quite a lot of good players, but somehow, it has just turned into a mess since the arrival of Jesse March. I am not sure if that is a coincidence, or if Nagelmann (the former trainer) saw it coming and was happy to leave the ship before it started to sink? What do you think?
Yesterday, RB Leipzig lost 2-1 against Club Brugge in the Champions League. That is their second loss in two matches, and the first match was the defensive catastrophe against Manchester City in which the opponent scored 6 or 7 goals. Yesterday, Gulacsi only had to pick two balls out of the net, but as RB Leipzig only scored once, that meant 0 points and even more hardship for Jesse March.
The question I ask myself is how much patience the club leadership will have with the coach after this? I guess he will last for a couple of more weeks, but if the results don't improve, I don't think he will be the RB Leipzig coach anymore by the start of November.
But, he wasn't the only one bringing a bad result home yesterday. The biggest surprise came in Madrid where the Albanian team Sheriff won against Real Madrid. That is just one crazy victory, and even the players will remember it forever and ever (unless they get Alzheimer's).
Chelsea isn't like RB Leipzig
Chelsea has had a fantastic season so far, they only experience some trouble with the machinery against Manchester City on Stamford Bridge last Saturday. But, hopefully, for them, the machinery will be working again tonight as they will play against Juventus on San Siro. Would you like to stream the match between Juventus and Chelsea online? But, Chelsea had a great season last year, and since the arrival of Tuchel, they have been doing extremely well. Losing against Manchester City once cannot be called a tragedy, but it would be very important for the team to get back at it and make sure that one loss doesn't turn into a streak of losses. That can easily impact the players and make the mood in the changing room bad.
Juventus was impressive against Malmo in their opening match in the Champions League this season, but at home in Italy, they have played six matches and only won 2 of them. They also have two draws and two losses. Will they improve and be at their best against Chelsea?
What do you expect from tonight's match? I would love to hear your thoughts and comments!
