I really don't know if FIFA has a rule to suspend a match when a player dies on the field unless someone proves me wrong. At least for the little knowledge I have about football I haven't heard of such rule.
This brings me back to the incidence that happened in a semi-final Confederations Cup match between Cameron and Columbia in 2003, when Cameronian Foe died of heart attack on the pitch.
At first, the coach signalled to him if he wanted a substitute or he would continue the game but things didn't go well for Foe as he later collapsed in the mid circle.
Those closest player to him rushed to him and he was stretchered to the side of the pitch where medical staff tried for revive him for more than half an hour.
Foe was rushed to a medical centre in Lyon for an emergency attention while he was replaced by another player. Many people suspected he was already dead on the pitch but the medical team did not announce his death
During Foe's incidence which was in a Confederations cup match, he was substituted and the game continued, so if a player dies in a World Cup match he would be substituted and the game will go on.
Even if a player dies on the field, I don't think his death will ever be announced. If it will, it should be after the match, therefore, a game will continue and the player would be substituted if a player passes on in a World Cup game.
This is just my own guess and I would like you to enlighten me if I'm wrong
I think, there is not any rule by FIFA to stop the game if any players die.

On a normal sense it is good to stop the match as a sign of respect to the player and his team @tosyne2much

They will never announce his or her death immediately, that's what will make the match to continue

But they will never announce a player's death on the pitch so the game will definitely go on
