Van Dyke to join Liverpool in £75m move; Benzema to Arsenal; Balotelli back to City?

Virgil van Dijk will join Liverpool when the transfer window re-opens on 1 January in a world record £75m deal. This comes after the shenanigans of last summer, when he hoped to join Liverpool after handing in a transfer request, but the move fell through after Liverpool allegedly made an illegal approach for the 26-year-old. It’s a done deal, and he will sign as soon as the window opens.

Van Dijk said in a statement he was "delighted and honoured" to sign for the Merseyside club and accepted he had had a "difficult last few months" at St Mary's.

It’s a hell of a lot of money for a central defender, and I believe it shows the intent Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool are making. This kind of money on defenders has to bring success, or the move will be deemed a failure.

Could Mario Balotelli be about to return to Manchester City? He’s been on fire for Nice this season and has stated publicly his desire to play in the Premier League again and go back to City, which would include living in the city of Manchester.

“I love City, the fans and the club, I’d happily go back there for free,” said Balotelli. “It was the best year of my life even if the city is a little difficult to live in. Manchester is not London.”
Would Pep go for such a player? Talented obviously, but is he worth the trouble? What’s more, do City need him? We wait with baited breath.

Arsenal have made a £36m bid for Real Madrid star Karim Benzema, according to reports in Spain. Spanish outlet Don Balon is reporting that the Gunners are preparing to move for French striker during the January transfer window. Apparently, Wenger has tried to sign him a few times, but is confident a deal can be done this time.

Madrid are wanting more for Benzema, but he is out of contract at the end of the season, and if he doesn’t move in January he will go on a free contract. It’s a move that will ignite some much needed spark in Arsenal’s season as they are in a tough challenge just to qualify for the Champions League again.

Jack Wilshere could be set for a shock move to Ligue 1 giants Marseille. It’s a move that would suit both parties. Ligue 1 isn’t quite the Premier League, but it’s an improving league, and Marseille are a huge club.

With the World Cup next summer, the England midfielder needs game time, which he isn’t getting at Arsenal. He will surely look for a move whether a loan or permanent, so he can cement his place in Gareth Southgate’s squad for Russia 2018.

Van Dyke has already posed with a Liverpool shirt. Bit of a kick in the face to Southampton fans.

Yeah, I saw that. It's pretty shit of him.

Totally

I think for the price of Van Dijk is very expensive.

I do, too. Big price comes big expectations. He has to deliver.

Will he though? I don't think he's that good.

Really these record breaking figures when it comes to football transfers are completely ruining football. I still remember the time when we use to rate players based on their performances (our opinions of course) and not on the figures of their recent transfers.

I agree. There’s too much money in football and it’s spoiling the game.

Money is ruining football.

my fvrt game is football.

You can always post a comment like that on mine, too, haha

Very nice! Feel free to brighten my comments section with more beautiful photos.

I doubt it can be a good moment of spending at Liverpool for a defender and I think Liverpool's problem is keeper. If only they had De Gea

Mignolet is definitely a problem for Liverpool but so is their defence. It's shocking.

Liverpool defence is shocking

I dont think Balotelli will return to City. May be an other Premier League club but not a big one. Still too much doubts on him

He's a waste of space

He's a talent, but can't handle fame. Too bigheaded.

I like sports Especially football.
And your post is football related so i like it.Your post is really great

Football is great, but money is ruining it

thanks

Its a new record 'most expensive' for a dutch player and that for a defender.
He didnt play for the big clubs in the netherlands (ajax, psv or feijenoord)

We will see if he cuts the mustard

The Dutch always produce great players

I like sports especially cricket.I am new here so please guide me follow me.

Cricket is a great sport! Especially when England win, haha.

Could Mario Balotelli be about to return to Manchester City?

No.

I doubt it. It's him wanting to go back there. They don't need him.

City need Balotelli like a turkey needs Christmas

Haha, very good

Balotelli is a cancer
