Salah: I've never been like Mane

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah believes that people do not understand the nature of his role in the English team, despite his abundant goals over the last five seasons.

The Egyptian player is enjoying another great season in the Reds, where he scored 30 goals in all competitions, 22 of them in the English Premier League alone.
Salah is the top scorer in the Premier League, as part of his quest to win his third Golden Boot, while Liverpool is chasing an unprecedented quartet of titles, and this season has already seen him win the Player of the Year award in England, according to the book.

Salah made every effort to correct what he saw as a common mistake among people, during statements quoted by the newspaper "Daily Mail".

Salah said: "I'm not a striker, I'm not because I play as a winger. I don't play the number 9 striker, I play on the wing. It's completely different when you play as a winger."

He added: "People think of me as a striker, but they shouldn't, because I don't play as a striker. In our last match, (Diogo) Jota was our striker, and we also have (Sadio) Mane as No. 9."

He concluded: "I've never been the number 9 like him, I just focus in every game to try to help the team win games, and that's the most important thing. Once the team wins, I'm happy."
